The pages of the website will be accessible via a URL which is called Homepage. Inventors website is Sir Timothy John ¨ ¨ Tim Berners-Lee, while the website is connected to the network, first appeared in 1991. The purpose of the team when making a website is to facilitate the exchange and update information to fellow researchers in his work. On 30 April 1993, CERN (the place where Tim worked) informs that the WWW (World Wide Web) can be used for free by everyone.

A website may be the work of an individual, or indicate ownership of a company, organization, and is typically dedicated to some particular topic or purpose. A website can contain hyperlinks (links) that connect to other websites, so, sometimes the difference between a website created by the individual sites created by business organizations may be blurred.

Websites are written in, or dynamically converted to HTML and accessed through a software program called a Web browser, also known as an HTTP client. The web page can be viewed or accessed over a computer network and Internet enabled devices may be a personal computer, laptop, PDA or mobile phone.

A website created in a computer system known as a web server, also called an HTTP server, and these terms can also refer to the software used to run the system, which then receives and sends the pages required to respond to requests from users. Apache is a software which is used in a webserver, and then after that is the Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS).
