1. Facebook

Facebook is a social networking website launched on February 4, 2004 and was founded by Mark Zuckerberg, a Harvard graduate and former Ardsley High School student. Its membership was initially restricted to students of Harvard College. In the next two months, its membership expanded to other schools in the Boston area. Furthermore, also developed a network for top-level schools and some large corporations. Since 11 September 2006, the e-mail address can sign anything on Facebook. Users can choose to join one or more networks available.

2. Twitter

Twitter was founded by three people: Jack Dorsey, Biz Stone, and Evan Williams in March 2006. And launched in July of the same year. Twitter is a social networking and micro-blogging where we as users can provide updated information about our business and so forth.

4. Friendster

Friendster, an idea derived its name from the name of Napster, is a social networking website where a user will create a virtual identity and then fill in the data itself to then get an account on Friendster. In myspace we can see our friends and the friends of our friends, in addition to seeing our own friends.

5. MySpace

MySpace is a popular social networking offers a network between friends, personal profiles, blogs, groups, photos, music and videos for teenagers and adults around the world. The headquarters site is located in Beverly Hills, Colifornia, USA. But in 2005, News Corp. bought MySpace at a price of 580 million U.S. dollars and MySpace officially changed hands belongs to News Corporation.
